We’re thrilled to share that one of our landscape designs is featured in Turf Magazine. The article, titled “A Terraced Hillside Retreat,” highlights one of our more challenging projects – one that transformed a hillside into a serene, functional outdoor retreat. This transformative project introduces two welcoming patios, terraced gardens, and an expansive deck, complete with under-deck storage for multiple grills and gardening tools.
Designing for a Hillside: Challenges and Solutions
This project involved tackling a steep, uneven terrain that many might view as a landscape design obstacle. The article explores how we approached the terrain and selected plants and hardscape materials to create a unified space.
Creating a Cohesive Vision
The design process emphasized blending the landscape’s natural features with the client’s desire for an outdoor living space, so we took advantage of the slope, integrating the various elements – patios, steps and planted terraces – into the hillside.
