Historic Wells-Guthrie House

The historic Wells- Guthrie House was designed by famed Oregon architect Ellis F. Lawrence and built in 1912, the house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990. The home was long overdue for a landscape renovation. Working in true collaboration with the client, the design concept is to support the home with a clean, contemporary landscape that supported and complimented the home’s unique architecture. The resulting design incorporates a new entry hardscape design that leads visitors to the landing area with seat walls inviting them to stop and enjoy the view of Mt. Hood before continuing. In the words of the homeowner, “This house finally has the landscape it deserves.” In the words of my client, “This house finally has the landscape it deserves.”
